do i need alignment?

just changed upper control arm on one side. if i put the shims in their original place, do i need to get my alignment done.

I'm gonna say yes as you did change a suspension part and I think that you won't be able to put them back exactly or that being the part is new not exactly like the one you replaced. I would think it would be ok for now but would have it done soon.

if you value your tire life and the way your car handles.
Its allways a good idea to play it safe and re-align.

purchase a lifetime alignment plan, I think firestone offers one. pay once and come back as many times and as offen as you'd like.
