honestly, i just got the interior cleaned up and back in, and the oil changed and using okay plugs for that, and my squealing from the front end today is like 5 times worse than ever. i can almost feel it int he steering wheel. its so gay. ive dropped all my money on a raybestos rotor, and raybestos pads, bc. my passenger one is grooved and i needed to replace that. and the rear main seal is leaking worse than before.

i know its an old car and all but i mean come on... i am very thankful that nothing has left me on the side of the road yet. but it really sucks not ever having any money saved up for college and stuff. it gets spent as soon as i get it on fixing something.

It sucks I know what you mean. My brakes are startin to show some wear, they have life in em, but the squealer will probably touch soon. My rear main leaks also, but I just gotta make do. My fans cracked all to hell, but I really want to drop the cash on a fan when I'm eventually going to get an electric anyway. I just hate when things liek this happen at the wrong time.

I know exactly what you mean. I put 2500 in the M-2300-k Brake kit, 1000 in 18x9 Cobra R Y2k rims, and 500 in tires and then my power steering starts leaking cause the wider rims. Then i park it inside for the winter and i go and look and my radiator is leaking. So now i gotta buy a radiator( fluidyne 350+) power steering(119+) and hoses(50+). Sure as **** my rear main seal will go along with head gaskets as soon as i supercharge it this summer probably. I dont know, seems like you modify one thing, and you wreck another at the same time. My car only has 79,XXX miles on it, i think parking it all those winters just takes it tool on things.

yea i just dished out 700 bucks for my rebuilt t-5 and a day after i get that in .. i start leaking antifreeze from the back of the motor somewhere from a hose or something .. gosh damn i hate fluid leaks i cant find where its coming from. This is the reason the car will prolly be leaving soon. like i did a 5-lug conversion and 03 cobra rims and then my timing cover gasket starts leaking so that gets replaced along with the water pump going out. I'm tired of it lol

There will always be repairs to be done no matter what car you own or how old it is. Unfortunately, it is part of owning a car, along with paying for gas and insurance.

Speaking of Rear Main Seal leaks I think mine a a very minor leak iwas watching one of the Car shows over the weekend a couple weeks ago and they suggested trying Bars Rear Main Seal stop leak. I know the products showcased on those shows are due to sponsorship but I thought I would give the stuff a try before have to roll the stang into the shop to have the Major work done. They talked about it working great as an oil additive and helps recondition the seals but I am having a real hard time finding the product anywhere either online or locally. Has anyone used it?How did it work if you did and where can you find the stuff. By the way those worried about gumming up you motor it wont its made as an additive for your oil !

I would be weary of adding anything to the oil that claims to stop leaks..could cause build up issues in locations where you would not want it too...just opinion.

I've asked myself why... On every single 5.0 I've owned... Why do I fix one thing just to have another break.

Most likely it's your hose from the Lower Intake to the EGR spacer that's leaking the coolant. Check the hose and the clamps.

I know not everyone can afford it, but it's always nice to have your 5.0 be your second vehicle.

I just changed my water pump gasket about 2 months ago and I have puddles of coolant sitting in the valleys of my timing cover again. I put silicone in those little holes in the timing cover by the valleys too. Oh well. It went a year last time before I fixed it and it'll probably go for a while again. Doesn't hurt anything.

I wonder sometimes if I had not purchased the stang...would I ever have needed to aquire a 11draw roller cabinet and top chest inorder to have a place to hold all the damn tools I've purchased. I think sometimes if I might not still be carrying that 105pc carry around plastic box with the baby sized hammer in it as my only tools needed.

This spring, I put in a new battery, new starter, new alternator, speedo cable, heater core, and some other things... lol Car didn't even get out of the driveway yet :$ Oh well it is an old car but it is reliable for me. I just do a lot of preventive maintenance (I change things before they go).
