Does anyone know of some good 2 or 4 piston brake kits for the rear? (fixed calipers)

I already set up a 4 piston front kit but does anyone know where I can purchase a 2 or 4 piston fixed (not floating) brake kit for the rear?

I have Baer 13" rotors back there currently with the factory 1 piston caliper. Will I have any problems putting on a Wilwood kit? (I'm only asking because I'm unsure if the Baer 13" kit changed anything such as caliper position)

the Baer kit does relocate the rear calipers. the Willwood kit uses a unique rotor, and converts the parking brake system to a drum in rotor style.

There aren't going to be any bolt on calipers. You are pretty much going to require an entirely new rear brake system.

Curious to why you want a 2 piston rear brake. Is it just for looks to match the front?

I want to do a 2 piston rear because the other car I'm driving is an Audi A4 and its brakes are responsive and effective. I want to further improve the Mustang's brake capabilities.

Do you know any systems in addition to the Wilwood kit mentioned?

ok, now that i do drive a European car, i don't want to sound like the typical Euro car owner, but that Audi has actual adequate brakes. very few domestic cars seem to have brakes that are adequate for anything more than random panic stops. My volvo has 4 piston Brembos with 13" rotors on all 4 corners stock.

generally you dont gain much braking from the rear on mustangs. they are so nose heavy. however what you can do is get the willwood kit and then get an adjustable proportioning valve which would allow you to fine tune the braking.

Last time I called wilwood about there rear 2 piston kit for 8.8 rear ends they said it wont fit on our cars. They said its because of the wicked ofset we have on mounting flange of the axel tubes. If this is the kit you are talking about you have to also give up your abs witch for me wouldnt be a option. I could be wrong here but I just checked there site and nothing has changed. Did they come out with something new for our kits at SEMA?

Unfortunately that prob has to do more with having a mixed and matched brake setup.

The audi's brakes are all designed to work together. On your Mustang, you have a master cylinder sized for stock GT brakes, huge 4-piston calipers up front, and a rear brake setup with a caliper sized for a 10" rotor now clamping a 13" rotor.

A lot of the pedal feel prob has to do with the fact the the MC isns't large enough to flow the fluid needed for 10-pistons total when it was designed for 6.

My Audi A4 only has single pistons all the way around but the pedal feel is so sensitive

I just noticed that on Wilwood's website. There's no love for New Edge Mustangs. There's so much of a lack of parts for it compared to the Fox and S197 Mustangs.

Yes, but i don't know if there are any others available.

I'm not up to speed on 4.6L Masters. But your pedal feel and responsiveness are directly tied into Master cylinder bore to fluid volume required.

On your audi, everything is sized correctly, so the feel is going to be great.

I don't know. Only way to know is to check to see if they have the same part number at Ford or a parts store

I would change to a more responsive brake pad like Hawk Plus or EBC Red. Do you have stainless steel brake lines? They help add pedal firmness and better feel to the braking threshold.

The front brakes handle about 70% of the stopping duties in a stock four link suspension. Maybe a torque arm or a front k-member would be a better investment, to help with the brake dive.
