Does the speedo bolt go all the way through the tailshaft?

I broke off the bolt that holds in the speedo gear on my T-5 tailshaft. i tried to easy-out the damn thing, and it stripped the threads. i cant tell if i got the bolt all the way out or not, and im needing to know ) when i go to get it re-tapped if i need it bottom tapped (if the bolt hole is solid) or if can be tapped all the way through. Thanks in advance for any input!

Thanks man, i appreciate it.. i had to retap mine last night, and had to use a bottom tap.. no fun
