I sold my 2.3 beater recently so I am back to my GT as my DD. I filled up last friday and the filled up again a mminute ago to see what I was getting. All week around town stop and go driving with the A/C blasting I got 16 MPG. Does that sound about average? Also I have an AOD and I lock OD out in town so I know that hurts it a bit.

Shoot with my stang I get about 10-13, thats with the e-cam, and showing ricers what a real car will do. Im happy with it, but 16 in town is very good in my opinion.

Sounds great man...

Mine gets about 110-130 miles... PER TANK - mixed highway/street driving with occassional pedal mashing.

The stoplights every 200 feet here in CA really kill MPG.

In Charleston we have the same problem with the stoplights and rediculous traffic on the way to and from work. In this rediculous heat and traffic i only get like 12 mpg. But cruising around on the weekends in town i get about 15-17 mpg. Sounds like your doing pretty well.

Yeah, it's so bad right now that I'm considering selling my Fox. I'm trying to go to school and while I have a pretty well paying job for only just starting college now, the car is eating my wallet thin in gas - I'm basically filling up every 3 days. Doesn't really matter if I drive it hard or soft - runs about the same MPG.

Car rungs GREAT - but it's sucking so much gas. Anyone have any ideas on how to get some better mileage out of this thing?

Taller gears? smaller cam and rockers, I guess? turn the fuel press down a little might help also if you can do it, and not ping up the engine.
