I recently called up a shop that I will be carrying my car to get its tune. The guy I talked to said that it would be around 350 for a custom tune that eliminates the rear two O2 sensors and fixed all of my other computer controlled problems. I was just wondering if this sounded good or a little cheap. Also on a tune up what plugs, wires and coil packs do yal recomend?

Thanks,
Nate

damn your carrying your car to a dyno shop you must be hella strong lol. but no like erik the beast said at MPH for that much they give you a chip and then tune your car. it maybe a tad on the expensive side. What tuner do you have?

This will be shocking to all of you........ With the exceptions of a rechargeable open air cone filter and a hack job exhaust ( meaning that the douch bag that rigged it cut the h and the cats off and ran straight pipes into some crappy knock off flows and turn downs) with true duels my car is exceptionally stock. I am new to the whole tuning game so I have yet to buy any handheld unit. The shop is Cleveland Performance Centers out of Cleveland Tn. When I called them about my previous '87 GT their quote was like 125 without even touching the dyno and like another 200-250 for an hours worth of pulls and tuneing ( guy said he could give me three good pulls and tune the whole time for my hours worth). This will be the first car that I have actually wanted to modify and hang on to. So what else are my options? I know that to do it right would be to replace the whole exhaust system and go back with a factory style either catted or of road h or x pipe but that would cost me more than taking it to this guy and getting the tune.

Thanks,
Nate

what are you looking for in a tune then? Your ecu is basically using the parts it thinks it's using - that's not common with many of us, lol

Because right now it has no throttle response, get like 10 mpg and runs rough as crap. The purpose for the tune or reprogram is to erase the rear two O2's from the system clean up the fuel map and set the timing better than what the factory did. And so that I can drive it with out worring that I will damage the engine with it running as rich as it is.

Thanks,
Nate

They still plug into the o2's and the o2's into the pipes. All I got is 2-1/2" pipe fron the first o2's back to the axles with no provisions for them. So in order for me to fix it right I will need a catted or o/r H or X pipe, another set of o2's and all of the hangers cause the dude had his exhaust welded to the factory ones. Alot more money that the tune so I choose the tune.

Thanks,
Nate
