So, Volvo DOHC valve head would line up exactly with a 2.3l N/A? Sorry if it seems like a n00b question, I saw it the other day, and was just wondering if it would fit just the same.

There's a thread on this a few posts down...and "NO" it doesn't even come close to bolting on.

I guess I should clarify...the head almost lines up with a 2.3 Ford block as far as the bores go, but nothing else is even close.

Yeah...you're a bright one alright. I don't have to put my hand in a running blender to know it's not a good idea, and I've built more 2.3 turbo motors (and blown up several) than you've ever seen in your life.

Volvo makes great motors. Why not just do the job right instead of patching together some piece of crap?

I'm working on my post count, so I can be cool like those guys.

...and you of course...LOL

Oh yeah...you ever go to Irwindale? We're going back Thursday if you want to go...got one run in today before the started went into "perma crank" mode. Still got a 5.65/125 spinning bad through first.

Worked on probably only 5-6 NA 2.3's About 4 Turbo'd motors. Countless crap a4ld's. SBC 305-350's BBC 454 SBF 302 SBF 351C's etc... I dont care how much crap you worked on though if you have no personal experiance with this exact setup then dont pass along what others have said. Which is why I am referring him to someone who is working on one. No passing of rumors or such.

I didnt say anything bad about the volvo engine. But it is most likely a pain to swap into a mustang. Personally I would swap an SHO 3.4 V8 with the cam fix done with a neat little turbo setup... I think that would be just as viable.

Also look at my profile. 4000 posts yes.... but over 5 years or so. So I actually only post on average about 2 times a day.

god, its like the honda forums with people asking about the rear disc conversion...every other day a new guy posts without searching....anyway...

as far as I know, mike's dohc conversion is on hold while he finishes his bodywork on his car, there's a few other people who come to mind but I cant remember their exact usernames on here and turboford.org, so not to make myself sound stupid, I wont quote names...

As far as I know, other than the people who have running dohc hybrids already, there's only one other person who's as far along as I am and dammit I cant remember his user name but I've got like 3 in my head lol.

anyway, here's my write-up on my progress if it helps you determine whether or not this conversion is beyond your means or not...

(be careful, it's geo****ties, and it's 4pages long thus far and you have to refresh a lot due to load problems, etc and it loves to exceed it's bandwidth....lol, but tis free to me! )
