Hey guys/gals ! This is my first post. Love all the info I’ve found so far , tried search function and didn’t turn up much . Have an 89 get 5.0 that I’m trying to get going from a box of all sorts of parts, pieces and panels . I’m trying to hook up the factory map light and dome light but I have no idea how to connect them to the harness. Each one has a black or gray “hook” looking terminal on the end of the harness but I can’t figure out how to connect them . Any help is greatly appreciated!

dome light and map light have the same connector in the harness side . I think I have the map light hooked up into the mounting bracket correctly. Still struggling on the dome light

Maybe these pictures will help see how the harness and brackets are placed (1991 LX). I took them when I did my headliner.
Enlarge the photos to see the Dome and Map light area. Hopefully this helps you.

So on the dome light you use a mounting screw through the dome light and into the black terminal to get 12V+. The other mounting screw is what grounds the dome light assembly. This is the same with the map light only the 12V+ is the gray terminal.
