I't's been this way since i bought the car, I have to keep the bulb pulled out or else it will stay on all the time.

Things i've checked:
Bulb
Fuse

I believe it has to do with some type of switch to turn the light on/off when the doors are open/closed.

Any Ideas?

i think there is a switch in the door jam...toward the front fenders

..and...what heppened to mine...the white press in switch in the hatch got bent a little and mine always stayed on....its right in there by the latch...just press it with the hatch open and see if they all shut off (the dome light and the hatch light)

also could be the dimmer switch...but i dont know the diagnostics of one of those very well......

when you move the dimmer.....is it real easy to move...is there a little resistance (there should be)

Agreed. It's quick to check the door pin switch. I used a socket to remove mine. there's one wire on the back. Unplug the wire (keep it from touching ground) and see if the light goes off. Do the same on the other door. If not, think dimmer.

New door pin switches are 5 bucks at AZ.

Good luck.

The hatch switch works and will turn the hatch light on/off.

So i'm thinking door switch or dimmer switch. How much is a new dimmer switch?

I had a bud with the same problem. He ended up taking the bulb out. One day I was chillin at his house and we decided to try and fix it. He had the switch turned on . We both got a good laugh at that one considering how long he dealt with no dome light.

Its an easy fix. I had the same problem too. One of my door sensors went too far into the door so it wouldnt stop the light from coming on.

This is most likely what you need (to check).
