i have a 66 coupe.i have a chance to buy a 87 mustang gt with efi for cheap. it still has the complete efi system with the computer. i would like to convert to efi with aod trans. has anybody ever tried using th r&p unit and what other parts off the car could i possibly use?
87 is a speed density setup. Most people try to use the 89-93 efi with the mass air sensor(also 88 for cali cars), just because tuners can work with the newer systems. Its easy enough to convert the 87 harness to the 89-93 style but you need the newer computer. Just something to think about. If its cheap cheap it sounds like a good deal to me.
