I am trying to get the door hinge pins out to replace the bushings on my 88. Is there an easy way to do this. I used a sawzall to cut the top of the pin (the part that looks riveted) and wacked the pin with a punch and 3Lb sledge, but I cant get it to budge. What gives?

find the hole in the center of the pin, drill it out and the pin will break in two. then you just pull the pin out of each end.
to simple.

well not really.
I helped a guy do his doors and it sucked.
but that is basically how.
The doors are heavy to!

there's no hole in the middle of factory pins...

just gotta HE-MAN on that pin to budge it, maybe you should relieve the weight of the door too.

I put the air chisel to the pin. I made a notch in the pin and used the air chisel to drive it down. I also got the help of a guy here in the firehouse who was wealth of help. If he wasn't here, I'd be stuck.

I ground my pins in half with a dremel, took about an hour per. Don't forget to support the door, or you could end up with a crinkled lower corner like mine.
