When you open the door can you wiggle the door up and down and it feel loose (movement). If so, look at the hinges. If no movement you could have chassis movement/shift/twist - especially possible with a convertible.

All depends on if the pins wore past the bushings and into the hinge itself. The oversized bushings are meant for this to a point. Hopefully all you need to do is replace them but if you have to use the oversized bushings you need to drill the holes to make them round again. I would mic the OD of the bushing and drill the hole just smaller for an interference fit.
If the oversized bushings are too big then you will need to weld them up and drill them.
I have seen where the lower hinge needs the over sized bushings and the top hinge just needs new regular sized bushings. Bottom hinge carries most of the load.

The problem with the hinges is it tends to be the welded door side that eggs out the worst... I've found using old 80' s econoline van rear door pin kits with the threaded ends and nylon lock nut are much better and can replicate the press fit while the repo mustang ones with an e or hair clip cant. I also buy Bulk bushings from aveco vs the crap ones the sell in the kits sourced from china, Have had to weld and redrilled a few doors hinges to fix them since they where so far egged out, it can be a pita. The mustang pin kits really do suck though. 38464 is dormans number for the 3.5" long threaded door pin kits, looks like the place I used to buy them from now longer sells the aveco one's.

There's plenty of movement in the doors up/down. Have to lift drivers door to get to shut and connect with striker.
You need to inspect the amount of wear on the hinges before you can determine the fix.
If body flex were that bad on that vert the top would be off kilter too.

Ok, I know the top and windshield have been replaced since I've owned it. Insurance took care of that.
You can really tell how bad it is if you open the door all the way and pick up on the outside.
Even if it's just a little wear it will seem crazy bad when you lift it.
It will surely be a pain to fix.
Last time i did it i put big hooks in my garage ceiling and hung the door with the big tow strap i keep in my pickup for when we drive on the beach.
Made it much easier. You need to keep the door as neutral as possible to get them out and in.
Even if you have other issues you won't know what they are if the bushings are shot on the door pins. Besides, once fixed the door isn't that hard to get apart a second time.
I dremel them in half in the middle that lock on a good set of vice grips and wiggle them. It's not an exact science and i'm making it sound easier than it really is.

Ok, if the bushings are worn really bad, would the standard size ones just move around in the hole?
Ok just checked the drivers door last night, opened all the way out, lifted up/down and lots of movement on bottom bushing/pin.
