Door Lock aculater
I have a problem with my 88 drivers power door lock. I replaced the passenger on no problem then when i changed the drivers one it wont pop all the way up or go all the way down unless i try to lock/unlock a few times. I have taken the door apart looked inside and still cant figure it out. I am ready to just forget about the power on that side.

Where can I take it get it fixed as I also need a new door handle for the outside as well.

Thanks

Follow this link to fix your door lock actuator problems: Mustang Door Lock Actuator Retrofit

Stuck with door lock actuators that don't work and don't want to pay the $50+ for a new one? Tried the junkyard ones and found that they last six months and freeze up?

A new actuator for less than $5. Fix one side for $18, do both sides for only $25. I don't sell parts, I don’t make any money off of the upgrade, I just tell you how to do it cheaply and easily.

Here’s a picture of the new actuator installed:

Does the linkage move freely?
Does the actuator receive 12V while commanded?

it does receive 12v and it seems to try and go up but not easily.
That picture you showed would that work with a 88must gt?

Doing this on my 86. It is really stratight forward once I figured out the 1/2" hole thing. I didnt need to do this since my old lock broke the pop rivet and was ust hanging there. I attached the new lock to the old mount and then used a new riviet to reattach it to the door. I have not hooked it up yet, I dont like those splicer wire locks so I am gonna hit the bone yard this weekend and find the right male connector. They look like the ones used all over many Ford cars then I will get it finished.

I meant does the lock go up and down easily when moved manually. If it does, I'd disconnect the actuator from the linkage and see what it does.

It definitely works for all Mustangs from 79-93.

It should work for the later models too with some changes in the length of the square tube actuator link.
