Guys,

Thanks for all you help with my actuator problem. I think I'm going to try one of those aftermarket ones off E-bay for about $20 w/shipping. I was looking at one from "Your Parts Store". I'm sorry because I could have just done a search and found most of my answers. I'm still learning about this site so please forgive. Does anyone have any pro/cons about these universal fit actuators?
Oh, and how do you disconnect the rod? Is there some kind of clip or after you have the actuator loose from the bracket, does it just "snake" out?

Thanks again. ; )

Does ford still have them available?
If so, i would NOT put a cheapo aftermarket one in.
I hate taking the door panels off, so doing it twice is not an option.
When it comes to electronic devices, IMO buy real ford parts or better, not worse.

The OEM actuators leave something to be desired. I have had much better luck with universal aftermarket pieces.

Do a search and read Jrichker's article on retrofitting the universal actuator. The article will answer all your questions. I've done it and would not do it any other way in the future.

Good luck.
