I've got an '87 GT with some weird power door lock problems. If I press the lock on the drivers side, the passenger side will unlock. If I press the lock on the passenger side, the drivers door will unlock, but never at the same time, or on their respective sides. Any ideas?

start checking for broken wires between the doors or inside the doors themselves.

i removed the door panels so far, undid all the electrical tape and started looking for that. i can't see anything right now. i've got a wiring diagram i will try to scan and post a link for in a day or two since i gotta find a friend with a scanner. but the diagram has the door lock motors on the passenger side, or thats how it looks on the diagram (i can't read these things to save my life). it show's an "in-line circut breaker at the starter relay" which is "hot at all times" at 20amps. this is between the left and right doors somewhere connected to a black/white wire. dunno if that would be anything to do with it. i'll try to get this diagram scanned quickly as i can. oh. one other thing. i'm not sure what they are, but on the passenger side, on two different wires (i'll have to find out the colors in a bit, im not near the car) there are these two black er...diode looking things, about the size of a tube of lipstick. wire goes in one side, and out the other on both of them. any ideas? I got my wiring diagram from a Mitchell Repair Information Co. program if you have access to it anybody.

similar if not the same...

driver door:
-unlock opens the pass door
-lock locks the driver door
pass door:
-unlock opens the driver door
-lock locks the pass door...
and i could only roll up/down the windows with the driver/pass switches on each respective door....
but i got free door switches and stuck them in there and everything is all well...

I've got manual windows, doesn't make much difference does it? I think these random connectors attatched to nothing on the same circut are probably for power window models right?
