I have been trying to figure out why my drivers side door lock switch doesn't work.

Both door locks will work fine, but I can only use the passenger side switch to engage them. I pulled the drivers side switch out and tried using a jumper wire on the terminals to get the locks to work. But I wasn't sure what combination of pins to touch.

So does anyone know how I can test to be sure only the switch unit itself is the culprit, before ordering a new one from Late Model Resto?

Had the same problem with mine at one time.. got the button off a explorer 93 i beleive and it solved my problems... when i tested mine with the tester the buttons had to be in and pressed in order to show any reading... i noticed driver side had a blink like it lost signal in and out... and to think i was chasing wires forever

I pulled the switch completely apart and used a small file to clean all the contacts, sprayed it down with contact cleaner, then put it back in. It still doesn't work.

So I am going to assume the problem is in the wiring.... I was hoping it wasn't.

Do you not have any friends with a fox? Just pull their switch off and test it using theirs. I actually have extras for both sides that I picked up at junk yards for $5 a piece, always good to have extra door switches and turn signal switches I think. You can test the actual switch with a multi-meter though off the car....I just don't remember exactly which wires are which...I'll try to find my chart

Here's the schematic, just test the resistance on the switch for where the wires go to it, might need someone to help you hold stuff or check the meter when you're hitting the button
