I just gutted my interior in my 85 GTand I plan on "redoing it" all. I am wondering if the 87-93 door panels will fit. My current doors are not power windows or locks, which I want to keep. The reason I am looking for other door panels is because I don't really want to cut holes in the original ones if I don't have to (for speakers). Another question is who sells a good quality black molded carpet. I am only interested in the passenger compartment. I've looked at 50resto, Mustangs Unlimited, and Year One. Is there any place else? Thanks

i don't think the panels will fit.....you may want to look in an issue of mm&ff and see what you can locate in there, it seems to me there is a company that sells parts off of used cars. I can't think of the name right off hand, but just get some original door panels, and cut em how you want em, that way you save your originals......maybe even check fleabay..........hotwheels of turborides.com

the newer door panels will fit with no problem. However if you're wanting them because you want to utilize the speaker holes you will have to do some cutting of metal from the door where the speaker holes are in the newer panels. There is no provisions for speakers in the older doors. I do know that the panels themselves will fit right on with no modifications. I'm not sure exactly how difficult it would be to get the speakers in there.

Oops. I said "no modifications". You will actually have to drill a couple holes for the new armrests to bolt to. Very easy though.

If you want to keep the all manual doors, then you will need to get manual window door panels and armrests from the 87-93 cars. Don't do like MM&FF, they got power panels for a projuct car and cut holes for the window crank, only to find out the armrest is longer and won't allow the crank to turn fully! They wasted a good set of black panels that way! Otherwise they will fit with a few new hols drilled to mount the armrest.

Good luck!
