So I did the dirty and purchased it, here is a link to the 2014 model and I found last years 2013 demo model on youtube. Paid $272 with a coupon code at Onlinecarstero.com. I travel quite a bit and it's way less than others on the market. I feel my short throw shifter will help this install much better too

Why not skip the OEM radio location and Velcro a bracket for the tablet in the area just above the AC vents. Some smart guy probably even has a Tweecer or Moates type tuning software app for tablets. Then all you need to do is disconnect the USB and power connections and store it in some out of the way place when you park the car.

it seems that the Google Nexus 7 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 meet the GPS need. All that is left is the tuning software that runs on an Android based tablet and communicates to the tuner via USB.

Actually Boss has 3 tablet like models that you can do just that. I already have a galaxy 3 tablet and plan on resting it on the shelf part with the stand thing it has. I'd either stream the bluetooth from it or can run a cable if I'm streaming from my phone. Not sure of the multiple limitations of it yet, but it also has sd card slot, aux plug or usb port. Don't recall nav with those models, I really wanted that with a detachable face.

I've got all my parts lined up and wll be installing a Nexus 7 into my dash on my dd. Even loaded a custom rom that allows audio out at the same time as power in via the same cable.

I'd be scared my hand would slip off the shifter and punch the screen lol. Also one of the reversible things you might be forgetting is drilling holes in the center console border that most dash kits require.
