Hey guys, leaving at 0400am tommorow morning to go to Steeda (240 miles one way) to have 3:73's installed in my car while I wait. I know it a long drive, but I figured me and wife would check out the area while we are down there (Pompano Beach). Gears are gonna cost me right at 500 for the install, and I'll have like 450 left to buy anything else I want there. Any suggestions,, anyone ever been there before.???

They are charging you $500 for just the install? Are you bringing vaseline, or are they supplying that also? Really man, that is absurd. Dont pay that.

The $500 includes gears, speedo gear, oil, install and all that. I got mine done there back in 1994.

Steeda is in a bad area. Nothing around there but strip bars and bad housing. May want to take your wife East to the beach for Lunch or something.

After the bill you should file for sexual assault you should look else where i'm sure it can be done alot cheaper and have more $$ for other mods.

Unfortunately, price is right on for where I have compared. PowerdbyFord in orlando wants 10 bucks more and doesnt include speedo gear, theres a performance shop in tampa that wont even give me a for sure price until they get done, they say it may take more time, or less. And I cant get any local shops where Ii'm at to touch it for less than 450, and I question some of their reputations. Price does include gears, all installation parts, speedo gear, and labor.

damn what a freakin ripoff. I can buy a set of gears for what, 140, and get em installed by a ford tech for 125. plus potentially a few other odds and ends but thats still less than 300

That does seem a little steep. I'm sure i varies a lot by what area you're in, but I got mine done for $235.

Is Steeda going to replace any of the bearings or anything while they're in there? It does seem to be about 100 bucks too expensive if they aren't going to replace anything. That 100 bucks can serve as a piece of mind, knowing someone is more than qualified to do the job.
