i recently bolted back up my t-5. however, taking off the exhaust was a long and frustrating process. i just wanted to check if there was any vibration, and just to make sure everything worked alright. is it necessary that i bolt back up my exhaust to test drive my car for a couple miles? pretty much, i was wondering if driving with no o2 sensors would cause my car to run dangerously rich or lean and detonate, or cause any permanent damage.

You should be able to make it a little ways all right. I don't know about 2 or 3 miles. I wouldn't drive that far. But maybe around the neighborhood a few times (neighbors will HATE you, but you gotta do what you gotta do).

Ya I wouldnt drive to far, just take a spin down the street and back. Im pretty sure the 02's arent reading anything at first because the car is in a "closed loop" state.

Without any signal from the O2s I would imagine the computer would revert to some stored tables. But I could be wrong there.

If you do run it without the O2s, I would suggest disconnecting the battery when you do get everything back together for 1/2 hour. This will clear out any codes that trip while test driving, and may help the computer adjust quicker.

when the O2's aren't connected, the computer makes the mixture rich. You should be able to drive the car 20 miles if you need to, although I can't see a reason. My point is that it won't hurt the car, but it will run rich, which shouldn't hurt anything except it'll use more gas and it won't be real good on the catalytic convertors.

I once drove mine to the exhaust shop probably 8-10 miles round trip open headers. Yes, it is loud - you won't be able to hear any noises from the T-5, but you should be able to get a feel for it.
