i got a 79 5.0 and am just wondering what would sound better dual mufflers or one muffler with 2 outlets, My friend an rs camaro with a dual outlet muffler and it sounds better and louder than any v8's i heard and his car is a v6.

DUal Exhaust on a Mustang is the best sounding exhaust there is. I'd put a 86+ spec exhaust system on your car and call it a day. Trust me, it will sound way better than any V6 with a muffler.

ew..3.1/3.4/3.8 with dual outlet muffler all sound like garbage. my buddy's got a 3.4 firebird and it's got a dynomax super turbo..it sounds alright under about 3k, but above that it sounds like an import.

He just has large pipes and a large diameter muffler. You can give an import a lower tone by doing the same thing. So much pipe that it comes out in pulses instead of a steady fart can, gives it that truck or power sound. Its no where near what a real v8 sounds like, but its deffinatly lower. Get the dual, youl be happy, and if u mod ur motor much, it will prob give ya a few extra ponys too, casue i belive a dual outlet will just be a bottle neck after a while.
