Our local mustang club setup a dyno day at a local shop here, so I finally got the 05 dynoed. I was wondering if everyone else was putting similar miles down stock with basically no mods. All I have is flowmaster axelback mufflers.

So I made 254rwhp, 279rwtq. Are these close to what everyone else is seeing for a stock 05. I did the 15% loss for manual and that came out to be about 292hp, 321tq. I guess that is alright, was hoping to have the horsepower a little closer to 260rwhp but oh well, now I have a reason to get mods.

I am thinking about a CAI with a tuner. I am wanting to hear peoples replies based on using certain brands and what they recommend. I am wanting a CAI with a tuner that has hopefully some 89, 91, 93 tunes, but will also save the original factory tune. I would also like to have it where someone could give me a newer tune, say if I added a 50-75 shot of nitrous in the future.

Thanks for all your comments, help and suggestions.

I've seen all kinds of crazy numbers. Some have claimed 290+rwhp, stock.

Before I got the pulleys on, I dyno'd at a max of 275rwhp. Since that was with everything on, I don't know what each component has added, but would assume I've gotten somewhere in the range of mid 20's - 30 rwhp (mine's an auto).

I have the C&L with the Predator tuner. The Predator saves the factory tune for you, but I would guess the SCT unit would too. The C&L is a nice, robust unit and is touted as the best (or, one of the best) intakes, but to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if they all performed fairly identically.

I put down 299 rwhp / 323 rwtq with JLT CAI, Bassani exhaust and custom 93 octane SCT tune. My dyno videos and graphs are here:
http://franksperformance.com/Forums/index.php?showtopic=161
I know the graph says "flywheel hp" but it is really rwhp. I asked the guy doing the tune and he said this particular dyno just calls it flywheel hp. Anyway, I was very happy with the numbers given that it was just the exhaust and cai.
