I was just wondering when your car is on the dyno what exactly are you spose to do? What gears you go through and and how you go about going through them?Any help would be great.
its basically just like your driving, start out in first to get the rollers moving, go into second and letting the clutch out smoothly, go into third doing the same, then go into fourth and go up to 3000 and then go to WOT till you get to the RPM you want to pull to. DO NOT touch the brakes the dyno operator will control the brakes on the dyno roller. most places dont let you do your own dynoing but the dyno i go to(xotic motorsports, cochranville, PA) lets you
When your car is strapped to the dyno you will just run it easily through the gears until you get to 4th. Then when you are ready to kick it down you start the switch to start the run. You kick it down and bring it up to the desired max RPM. When you let off you let off the switch. This will graph your run.

Ok thanks, I was just making sure we did it right at the dyno the other day because in 4th gear we were moving up to 6 grand @ 175 mph and the head gasket blew.
