I did four pulls at the Dyno over the summer and they are not what I had expected.

The first two are with my exhaust cutout closed:

164.53 HP : 232.54 TQ
164.37 HP : 229.40 TQ

The last two are with the exhaust cutout open:

179.05 HP : 242.52 TQ
178.78 HP : 248.44 TQ

I like the fact that I gained 15HP when I open up the cutout but I expected to be making closer to 200 HP. I also am fairly happy with the Torque.

As you can see from the air/fuel I am running real rich at about 10 or so. I'm guessing that has alot to do with it but I'm not sure why I'm running rich.

Modifications are in my signature.

-let me know what you think

Turn the boost to 18 or 20, that will lean it out for you...and make another 25hp or so.

1. ditch the ihi

2. ditch the flowmaster (i did and omfg!) also run a tailpipe, even out the side

3. 12* timing is nice

that really isnt bad, i made 182hp and 259ft-lbs with:
T3
full 3" in to a flowmaster (at the time)
starion FMIC
ranger roller
K&N
18psi
12* timing
91 octane
regular fuel switch on
with 3.55 gears and 245/50-16 tires

also previous owner said he ported the exhaust manifold and head....

i think now that i've helped the exhaust out a little and ran it on the premium switch i'd see a significant gain, maybe retarded my cam a bit as well because my power dropped off at around 5k

i think your gears helped put some power down to, thats 5% more torque at the ground than with 3.55s

crank the boost like everyone else said, play with the timming 12-14* power hides somewhere in that range. 255lph fuel pump and adjustable regulator, put more fuel into it when the boost starts to go up. which VAM and injector size are you running?

the engine is mostly stock still... out of an 88 t-coupe so its got the big VAM and stock injectors.

-mostly i was just wondering what could lead to running so rich on a boosted car in the higher RPMs. It starts off decent around 14 but just gets richer as the RPM's are going up. Boost stayed constant throught the run at about 16psi. I'll try cranking the boost a bit, but is there other issues i should look at such as O2 sensor, injectors, ect...

are you saying for the timing to be 14* BTDC or ATDC?

just curious but have you run codes on the car??

that a/f ratio is way rich

I'd crank the boost up to 18psi and play with the vam spring, timing, and fuel pressure and see what you can get from it.

You don't want 14 under boost. You want something in the 11.5-12.5:1 max. No leaner than that under boost.

Honestly, your a/f curve looks better than most "stock" ones I've seen. All of my cars dipped well into the 9's when mostly stock. The stock ecu throws the fuel at them for sure. Lower the fuel pressure 3-4psi to get it "closer" to ideal...
