well here is my dyno run, i was back at mustang magic and got a print out today. i also had them remove the deceleration delay, so now, when i let off the gas with my car in gear, it actually slows down!!! wow! i cannot belive ford programmed these things to have a 4 second delay b4 it will start engine braking. i have never driven a stick car where i had to constantly use the brakes in traffic. well thats all fixed now, so i am very happy with how it drives now, just need that damn throttle body!

If I am reading that right it looks like you are reaching Max HP at about 4300 RPM and the TQ band starts to hold at about 4900. With specs @ fly is about 300HP @ 5750 and 320TQ @ 4500, I find this an interesting tune.

Forgive the questions, inquiring minds want to know..

Is the lean A/F normal at the front peak of about 15.0:1? I have seen dynos shut down with WOT leans around that figure. Are you planning any more tuning on the A/F curve or is this common on the 05 GT?

I am not seeing a large impact with the U/D pulleys. I recall there being a larger HP increase with speed increase on the pre-sn197 with the U/Ds.

How many pulls did you get on this trip?
I am no expert here, and am not trying to be mean, but I have a feeling that this tune may get you off the line quick, but will drop like a rock mid-way 1/4.
What was the desired result of the tune?

Jennifer

they actually got the a/f down a little after this run, i know it is kinda high on this one. i do not know much about tuning, all of the other cars/trucks i had did not need to be tuned. i do know that my butt-o-meter is very happy now. i basically said i drive the car everyday and am not really planning on taking it to the track since it is my daily driver, and i use it for work. the car keeps pulling till it hits 6500, where i shift. i dont know much about these graphs, which is why i posted them so someone could explain! in 1st gear now, when i have trac off and floor it, the wheel will spin around 4000 or a little higher, made it much more fun to drive. let me see if i can find the SAE of the last run tomorrrow

Okay... The last chart looked a little better. It does seem to be tuned to what you indicated to the tuner. DD. This will let you jump the light and leave the lil' ricers in the dust and then you can back off @ speed limit and drive like a respectable cautious driver. Hahahhahahahaha...

I would like to see the A/F lean at around 13.5:1 at start and then steadily decrease to around 12.5:1 and ride there until the shift point. With the CAI and X exhaust, I believe that would be a good A/F curve. If you can get me the last A/F read that would be great.

When I saw the graph I thought.....mmmm DD... Hence my ? on your desired outcome. My compliments to the tuner. He achieved a nice tune for your driving style and intent! Your butt-o-meter is right on! Enjoy!!!

ya its in the programming, factory there is a 4 seconds before the engine switches to the deceleration maps, i had mine changed so it will start after 1 second. it is sooo much better in everyday driving now, i barely use the brakes.

I'm really curious about how this programming will impact your fuel economy.

The lag in decelleration was typically called "Dash-Pot" (a device used a long time ago on carburetors) to control the decelleration rate to eliminate stalling.

I've got a fair amount of ECU programming experience from a GM perspective - the FoMoCo stuff is still rather alien to me right now.
