my dad's assistant at work has a brother that runs a high-performance shop in Gaffney, SC, and that his brother sends people to this tuner in charlotte that does dyno tuning for $150, am I crazy or is that a low ass price for dyno tuning?

Never heard of them. Or such a low price. Sounds a little fishy to me.

All of the local Stangs (and some not-so-locals) like to go to TDS. (www.trudynosports.com)

It is 45 minutes to an hour north of Charlotte. And Gaffney. So it's closer to you anyway. They're actually doing that international Mustang dyno day on 14-15 October. They also have dyno days for us occasionally and we get some good deals. www.xtrememustangs.com is our local forum and TDS has a vendor forum. You can ask them any question & they'll help. Or you can call them.

BTW, you inspired me to finally change my avatar.

I think a chip alone costs over that. If he's just playing with the timing and dynoing the car to get some #'ers, it would be a good deal. I couldnt imagine a full 2 hour session of getting the car dialed in by re-burning the chip multiple times to get it right for $150. $300 would be a better guess and thats if you already have the chip.

If you allready have a chip $150 sounds about right. That's what I paid to have mine tuned.

The phrase "dyno tuning" can mean all kinds of things.

Different peeps have different needs.

Different tuners have different kinds of skills.

Different combos can require different kinds of efforts.

Some of the shops around the DFW area offer different kinds of rates to accommodate those different kinds of needs.

For me ...... I just need em to spin the rollers
so
I will look for the best hourly rate

Seems to me ... If he provides a chip AND dyno time for 150 bux

he's gonna be forced to get it right (or say its right) in a pull or two
or
he's loosin $$$
