Dynomax VT

I saw an ad on theese new mufflers. The are supposed to open and close on pressure. Anyone tried theese?

I have the Dynomax Ultraflo mufflers on my 65 and love them.

I'm interested to know more about these VT mufflers.

From email from Dynomax:

The new VT muffler will be a self adjusting flow depending on the psi, or exhaust flow at any specific drive cycle. This muffler will have a open valve at the higher rpm ranges allowing for a free flowing system, but at the lower rpm's the valve will be more closed to cerate the needed back pressure to eliminate exhaust turbulence (drone) and will have a mellower tone during this time. I have included the chart of the current units available

That sounds pretty neat. I think our Nissan Maxima has a similar muffler. I would like to hear some you tube clips or hear what others have to say that have it on their car.

Sounds(pardon the pun) like a neat idea but I would not want them on a car with a turbo or supercharger due to the valve closing and making backpressure.

My concern about them would be the spring that controls the butterfly valve and how it holds up over time

I was thinking the same thing.
