Easiest and cheapest way to measure FUEL PRESSURE?

I am tinkering with some things, and I would like to measure my fuel pressure. What is the easiest and cheapest way to do this. I do not need a full time gauge. I just want something to hook up and read the pressure. I saw that an electronic gauge costs $200, and a mechanical only costs $60. I do understand the difference about mechanical cannot be mounted inside, but I don't care much about mounting it in the car. Besides the standard gauges from autometer for measuring fuel pressure, is there a CHEAP guage that can just be hooked up for testing, then removed with out any hassle.

You can get a little like 1" one that will just screw into the fuel rail where that little black cap/bleeder ison the front of the pass side rail. Maybe like 25 bucks. I know NOS makes them. You could leave it in and it would look really cool. Or get a mechanical guage from autometer to put in the car. You need an isolator, but I have on if you PM me I may hook you up.

I was looking at autometer and NOS and they both sell a simple gauge that mounts on the fuel regulator line for about $35. Ok, that seems about right, but I don't have a fuel regulator since my car is returnless. Venom, you say that you can hook it up some where else. Do I need any kind of adapter? If so how much does something like that run?

What is the isolator for?

Turn your key to the start position, press down and hold the odomerter button on the dash, then start the car. The digital readout on your dash should say "test". Press the odomerter button a few more times for some various digital readouts, one of those is fuel pressure.

I have not looked at that test stuff since I got the car. I will have to give it a try and see how well it works.

Damn, beat me to it. I wanted to say that I leave it on digital tach when I drive around alot.

Unfortuently, it only shows the fuel LEVEL not the fuel PRESSURE

Back to my original question. Any one else have any experience with fuel pressure gauges.

After some more searching I found this nice unit from Steeda. It comes with the adapters. I quote, "It attaches directly to the fuel rail pressure test port without having to remove the pressure release (schrader) valve, eliminating the need to search for adapter fittings."
