Eastwood's Tin-Zinc Electroplating System

y not use stainless steel nuts and bolts?

Just a thought....I dont see where you would really need grade 8 hardware...unless its for your heads, motor mounts, or trans to block bolts. Not many olther bolts have a lot of stress on them.

I bought the Eastwood kit, hoping to do the same thing. I was disappointed in the results, I never was able to get the shiny look I wanted, even silver spray paint was closer to original. I then bought a Caswell set, and have been very pleased with the results. I bought the zinc plate kit with the brightener, it cost a bit more, but was worth the extra money. To get the best results, I used their heater (looks like an aquarium heater) and an aquarium air pump that circulates air in the bucket. it is all explained in the book, they are very knowledgeable, and they answered all my questions I had over the phone. It took a little experimenting to get it going the first time, but when you figure out how long to leave the part in the solution, the plating goes on pretty smoothly and quickly. Good luck.
