I bought an 04 Mustang GT Premium 2 days ago. My car is totally stock at this time. I want to order the Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers but what size?? My exhaust tips are 3" Are the stock mufflers 3" as well? Thanks for your help

eeewww flowmaster

I'd read up on them first, if your going for pure loudness then your on the right track, but if you want a daily driver i'd recomend MagnaFlow, they are real loud and deep when you get on it, but at lower RPM's it just sounds good. I have the catback and the X-pipe and i LOVE both. just something to think about

Oh yah, I'd look on Ebay too, went to magnaflow.com and they were like $400-500, got it shipped to my door from performancepeddler on Ebay for $315 for the catback and $340 for the X-pipe. I'd advice getting the whole catback at once, doing just the muffs is kinda a waste of time.

if u're gonna replace just the mufflers the pipe size is 2.25" and from flowmaster you need the offset in and the offset out. Im getting a pair of original 40 series cause i want it to be loud but i havent heard how the super 40s are yet

I have a 93 5.0 with Mac O/R H pipe and 2 chamber flows and I absolutely love the sound. What will give me a sound closest to that on my 2004 GT but will also pass emissions? :bang:
I have listened to several sound clips and read many opions but its so hard to tell without really hearing it??

get a catback...

I believe the original 40 series mufflers will give u the closest to that sound and they are the loudest 2 chamber mufflers flowmaster has. You might also want to get a high flow catted x or h pipe because it wont be as loud as with the o/r H pipe

they are quieter than the 40's I have an X pipe now and I am going to get the magnapacks instead but they sound alright. Hell the best sound you can get is to make 2.5 inch pipes and get the 40 series and then put turn downs right after the mufflers. If you want to keep our tailpipes on install a set of cutout right after the muffler and point them down and that will give you the deep low rumble. The Deltas are quite a deal quieter though. But you will want to get rid of those smaller pipes for the lowest sound
