I am going to replace the ECT sensor on a GT, do I need to drain the coolant?

no, but make sure your car is cooled down or else it'll spray out when you take the old ECT sensor out. Might want to remove the radiator cap to relieve the pressure. Some coolant will probably come out but shouldnt be much
