How long does it take for a computer to adjust to a exhaust change? I was thinking of adding electronic exhaust cut outs and was concerned that opening them and closing them will mess up the tune.

What kind of exhaust setup are you running ? If you got rid of the cats and havent put in a mil eliminator than its likely after a few days of driving it will throw the check engine light.

If your talking about gaining some power, you should disconnect your battery for 15 mins, reconnect and let the computer learn for a few days.

Factory exhaust. Weld in the cut-outs before the mufflers. So normal driving through the tail pipes. Flip the switch and open the cut-outs and dump prior to the mufflers. Will that sudden change mess up the a/f?

I wouldn't think so because the cutouts would be after the O2 sensors and the computer would not detect a change.

The back pressure would change. How does that effect o2 readings?
