I have a 1985 mustang gt 5.0 with a manual transmission, and AC. I am replacing my Holley 4180c with an edelbrock 1406 and I wanted to know if anyone had been able to modify the OEM throttle kicker bracket to work with this, or do I need to purchase the edelbrock hot idle compensator valve kit? Also, does anyone know if there is a vacuum line schematic anywhere. This thing has all the vacuum lines.

Probably try Edelbrock for the bracket for the kicker, and other trinkets. The throttle kicker is mostly to speed up the idle for the ac. I modded the original for a Holley 6004. Had a 1406 for 10 years on my Chevelle, worked great, I think the throttle shafts got worn and it had a sketchy idle when I went to a stick shift, so I put on a 40 year old 1850 that works fine. The 1406 was stone reliable, but requires the Eddy specific tuning kit, and did not seem as crisp as the Holley 1850.

For the vacuum diagram, you will need to buy one, as there are lots of vacuum items on this vintage Ford. I have a 79, and it has all the orig vacuum parts still on it, adapted to a Holley 6004, for 30 years and I am still not sure what some of them do.

Thanks for replying. Good to know the Edelbrock is a solid choice.

Thanks, I will research some more. I initially was having trouble finding one online.
