what are the difference between these two intakes?

I have two Performer 289 intakes...part 2121 from edelbrock. they have "edelbrock performer 289" embossed on them.

Now, this intake will fit 289-302 engines. Now, The edelbrock performer intake......it will also fit 289-302 engines. Whats the difference in these intakes? Is the performer 289 intake the performers predecessor? I cant find it on the summit website.

Its the same thing since the 289 & 302 carry the same deck width.

Thanks, but I have seen that. Some intakes have '289' stamped on them, like the one in the picture...and some dont. That was my concern.

As long as they look identical, they probably are. And If I'm not mistaken, they're also a carbon copy of the std run of the mill mid to late 60's factory iron 289-302 4bbl intake and the later 83-85 H.O. 4 bbl intake.

Hearne,

Got an 84 HO intake in the garage, looks different from the edelbrock.

The Performer 289 is the same intake, just the early version.
Nothing changed except the deletion of "289" from the name.
There was, or maybe still, a Performer 302 that had more emissions related junk on it.

I've seen both and aside from minor cosmetics, they pretty much look like carbon copies of each other. Same sized runners and layout.
