I have a 1990 LX 5.0 and I just put on a X pipe but the EGR Tube that comes down ad connects to the middle of the X pipe does not line up. Is it alright to run the car with this disconnected so I can get it to a shop that can heat it and bend it to get it on.

If I cut it off does it affect emissions? Will the check Engine light come on?

I believe if you do not have cats that it will not harm anything. I would crimp the end going into the x-pipe though or like they said, you will have an annoying exhaust leak.

The tube comes off the smog pump so thats OK to let it blow in the wind.

Some guys have found that there is some high temp hose that can be used to connect the air tube to the cats. Check with your local auto parts store to see if they have it.
