The vacuum line that runs to the EGR valve got all old and brittle and snapped off and now i have a vacuum leak. The coupler where that vacuum line comes from is broken off down in there so i have nothing to put a new vacuum line onto, and was wondering if there was anything that i could do to fix the vacuum leak? It seems to be messing with the idle, ever since that line broke my car has been idling about 900rpms, and sometimes just stumble on itself and die on startup every once and a while.

I just push a small piece of the hard plastic line in the rubber coupler. Then I push some correct size rubber vacuum hose on that and am finished.

Use this diagram to help plumb the vacuum system

Theoretically, you could just bypass the coupler altogether and splice a piece of rubber hose that the hard plastic line will fit snugly into between the two ends.
