Eibach + chin spoiler = death to chin spoiler?

hey

i just installed my eibachs last week, the pro kit

i was wondering how many of you have either the pro kit or the sportlines AND a chin spoiler...... have you had many problems?

do anyone of you have a lowering spring/chin spoiler setup that has had no clearance issues? if so, how many inches from the spoiler to the ground

Dear Bloody Guts,

I got the CDC Classic chin Spoiler installed and did not lower the front end...

I have about 5-6" of clearance and must be very careful of driveways, and other types of ramps or embankments so I don't hit or bottom out...

One day after I got it painted and installed, I bottomed out on a steep driveway and had the touch up the paint on the underneath of the spoiler...

Also - when parking in a parking lot with concrete parking bumpers, you must back into the parking space...

Heading in and not stopping soon enough will destroy the spoiler in one day...

WOW, great look but be totally careful...

I have the Pro-kit and the classic chin spoiler. I absilutely love the look, but yes you need to be aware of car stops and curbs when you park other than that I have no issues with it being lowered. Well thats not totally true, my floor jack wouldn't fit under it after lowering it ..no biggie I bought a shorter jack, problem solved.

I ordered my CDC Classic Chin Spoiler today. Any chance of getting you to post the installation instructions? Suggestions for installation are also appreciated as well. Any special tools required? Did you use a lift, stands or on the ground? By yourself or did you have a helper?

Dear Tmcolegr,

I had a paint shop do the painting and installation but before I took the car to them, I read through the instructions which were very simple...

1. After allowing the paint to dry thoroughly, this piece has two screw holes on each side which after removing the front fender well attaching screws, uses these screw holes to attach to the ends of the front bottom facia...

You must either remove or turn the wheels in order to excess these screws...

2. There are a few clips which hold the spoiler to the bottom of the facia which will have to be placed securely...

3. Finally, there is a tape stripe which runs along the spoiler and attached to the bottom of your existing lower front facia which holds the whole thing in place...

I think the installation is a "two man job" because one guy must hold the piece while the other guy screws it in...

Get a paint shop to install it and save yourself some aggrevation!!!

thanks for the info, i know i'm going to have to be careful with speed bumps/curbs/driveways

it's good to hear that you haven't had too many everyday problems

now i just have to justify the cost

Had the same problem of fitting a jack under my sn95 after lowering. Took two pieces of 2x12 lumber and angle cut the ends making them mini ramps, raised the car just enough to get the jack under the

I did the install in my garage, no jacks or lifts ..I jut turned the wheels one way then the other to get to the screws in the wells...total install time(after paint) was 10 minutes! Only 4 screws (already there from factory) some 3M tape across the front, and 2 push pins provided by CDC. Very simple to install!!

Thanx BAMA, I have, since these pics, installed the SSE quarter window louvers and the RK Ram Air hood(at the body shop now for paint) so I'll have new pics up soon.

There isnt a jack out there other than the spare tire equipped jack that can fit under my rockers. I have to drive up on 1 1/2" blocks to have enough clearance.

I would not advise getting a chin spoiler with Eibach sportlines . You can buy a low profile alum. floor jack[Nascar style] that will go under a sportline lowered car.

Where did you get the "Nascar" style floor jack? I think I need one of those too... since the other floor jacks are "Vertically" challanged.

Thanks JLSTANG for the compliment I hope the Tokico D-spec adjustable shocks I just ordered helps even more with the already improved handling.
