Eibach drag launch kit.

How many coils am I going to have to cut out to get my car to sit level. I have a 351w in my engine bay so I imagine I am about 150lbs heavier then a 302. That being said the battery has been relocated and the top end is aluminum. So maybe i wiegh the same as a 302 up front. Please let me know how many you had to cut out.

Don't cut springs.

I don't think anybody makes a set of drag launch spring that will make the car sit level. The back is going to sit higher than the front.

I cut 1 coil off the front of mine to get it to sit lower it sat like a truck(alum. headed302) and the rears I ended up getting rid of. I really don't like that kit!!!!!!!!!!

From what I have read the kit makes the front sit higher then the rear. Thats why I asked.

you didn't like the way your car sat? Is that all? Did it help with 60' times?

launched good with the bag in place plus I did shocks struts at the same time so yeah it works pretty good just don't like that stance.

My brothers Capri had the eibach kit on it and the front was .750 of an inch higher than the rear. He cut a coil and a half to give it a little rake. The Steeda kit actually lowers the car some and has a nice stance. Works good also.

Looks very good. I think I will cut one coild out before I install and go from there. I guess I would be cutting the top of the spring right?? Probably shouldn't have typed that. hehe.

No, you will be cutting the bottom. The end that sits in the control arm.

well thats good to know. I would have thought the top since the bottom tapers in I thought. When I get home I will have to have a look at the coils again.

That car that I installed the springs on we only put the rears in. And left the stock 4cyl springs in the front.

Here is a pic of the car coming out the hole.

Edit This is the only pic I could find on the car just siting still. The back sits a little high.

It took the springs about two months to settle in and sit like that. Did sit real high in the back at first.

When I get home I'll post up a pic of mine. It's totally stock looking (16' ponies) so it will give you a good idea how it sits. Ive heard of people cuttung the springs but only because they couldn't get them in.(The fronts are a btch too put in)

So you didn't cut your front springs? I got to get this done soon if the coils take a while to settle out. Would be nice to get it done in the next couple months so the car can sit for 2 months before I get it on the road.

It's on level ground and they are stock size tires also.

Yes I will be doing it myself. I'll be getting a spring tensioner/install tool. I hope I'll be able to compress them enough to get them in.
