Electric Fan Relay ???????? Why was this done?
Before I install an A/C Fan Control Relay, I have a ? about the # 85 on the current electric fan set up.
I traced the wires from the relay that the previous owner put in. There is no A/C Fan relay, only the 75 amp relay for the fan to kick on with the thermostat.
The relay connections are as follows:
The relay is a Tyco 75 amp # V23232-D0001-X001
?????????????????????????
#85 wire goes to the positive terminal on the MSD Coil, the exposed wire is just wrapped around the + terminal and the plug clicks down and holds the 85 wire in place. I don't understand why he did this. What is the point of this? I thought 85 was for an optional toggle switch.
?????????????????????????
#86 to water temp sensor
#87 to fan
#30 to Battery + terminal
There is a jumper wire connecting the two wires directly off the fan together.
A couple ?s:
Why the #85 connection to the MSD Coil +? &
What kind of A/C Fan Control Relay would you use?
Thanks.
