electric fan

hi guys i need to change my electric fan in my 91 hatchback im thinking to take one from the junkyard you know from wich car is the best for a good fit ?

Go back to mechanical. So much easier to deal with.

i already have a electric one now i prefer to stay with the electric fan but the one i have now is almost finish the motor pull a lot of amperage i need to change it. im gonna go check at the junkyard. from a taurus or contour.

here are the thre choose from. I have used all of them and they outperform any aftermarket fans IMO and are OEM quality and reliable. I find them for $40 or less in the junkyards
  • V6 Taurus- pulls well over 3000 CFM and best for most N/A applications
  • Dual Contour/Cougar Fan- pulls over 3000 CFM and best for power adder applications where space is limited
  • MKVIII- pulls well over 4000 CFM but hard to find

With all three you should use a soft touch controller to handle the amp spike like a FAL 33054

thanks you for your help im gonna get one of theese at the junk yard. i re-check the one i have now and im pretty sure the motor of the fan is almost finish i have a 40 amp. relay and the wire of the relay still get hot after the fan run for 5 min at the first speed not supose to get hot with this relay it supose to support easily the amp of the fan

Maybe a sn95 fan will fit?

It will. Same size as Lincoln Mark VIII. A little less air flow, 4000 vs 4600 cfm.

Ok. Makes sense, bigger vehicle. Good to know if I ever need one.
