Electric water pump wiring

looking for options on where to wire my electric pump to, battery is located in the trunk of the car. I was thinking about wiring it straight to the alternator but not sure if that will burn up the pump. Pump is just a 2 wire electric.

Use a relay that can support 30 amps and set it up to close when the key is on. Don't neglect to also fuse (20A) the wire running from the relay to the pump. This is how my Meziere electric water pump is configured.
