OK. Here is a picture of the plugs you need. The gray contains your power connections and the black is your speaker connections. The Metra part number of the connectors is 70-1770.

If you really wanted to, you could cut the connectors off and splice the wires directly. But please dont do that. Just go get the connectors (under $10) and do it right. Just splice the wires on the back of the CD player onto the connector wires of the same color then plug the connectors into the factory ones and BAM, your done.

The easiest thing for your key situation is to have a locksmith come out and cut you a new set of keys off of your ignition and door locks. If you just change out the ignition, you will need to change the door locks and trunk lock as well and that will cost more and be more of a pain than the locksmith. I had that done when I bought my 90 cause the seller had lost the keys and It cost me $80 for the whole shebang.

Excuse me now so I can go put my radio back in.

EDIT:
I just realized you had a 93. In 93 Ford changed the speaker connector. Yours looks like the older style but they are generally both 90 degree connectors, not straight like the one in your picture. I see a blue wire in your picture, that is the speaker connector. Make sure you get the kit for a 93 not the 1770, which is for 86-92. I think its a 1771 but dont quote me on that, I dont have my metra book handy. Also,Look behind where the radio goes on the floor and see if there is a small silver amp bolted to the floor. If there is, you will need to bypass it.

A black wire in the car isnt always a ground but in the 100 or so CD players Ive installed the black wire on the back of them has always been the ground.

That and I know the deck hes working with. Ive hooked up a few.

The door/trunk keys are different from the Ignition, so he wouldn't have to replace all the door locks.. Unless he doesn't havce a doorlock key either..

Reread my post, I just realized you were working on a 93 so I added some info. You need a different part number kit. You can get the kit at any car stereo store or sometimes walmart as sleeper said.

I went to autozone or advance auto parts and got a set of keys and a NEW ign for $13.50. Locksmith, + servicecall = $90 or so. Whats cheaper? I can change the ign in 10-15 minutes. A locksmith can do it if you want the same key but if you are starting it with a screwdriver, you have already fugged up the ign switch and a key would be MOOT! You should be able to use ANY ford key to start that car, so why would you get a new set made? Buy a new ign and install it. I SWEAR, IT IS SIMPLE!

It is simple to swap out the cylinder, but it sounds like the cat lost ALL his keys. So he would have to replace the door locks too.

Yes that is what you need. It doesn't come with the cd player when you buy it you must buy them seperate for your type car. Yes you can find these plugs at Walmart where the stereos are.

As far as the locksmith goes depending on what he might charge you is up to you. At least you wouldn't have to change any of your locks.

Like I said, I have a set of ign and door locks. I was going to put them in an 88 stang but I decided to part it out since I have 3 stangs total. I need to get rid of something. The door keys will be different from the ign but many cars ar like that. The ign switch I have is new and only a few months old. The car I bought had no keys and I had to learn how to replace the ign. Found out it was easy frachisy. Doors are easy and the trunk lock I have MAY fit in a hatch. For sure will cit a coupe or vert. You have a beautiful stang by the way! Just email me if you want the lock set.

I had assumed you were starting it with a screwdriver. That would trash the tumblers and allow any key to work. Heck if a screwdriver works, so would any key.

Sorry for the confusion on that.

for $25 I'll send you all the parts discussed priority USPS (I'll pay shipping) and you can have them by this weekend.

-----For now-----
If you really want to drive your car, assuming you can open the doors, do as I said earlier about pulling the ign assy out and once the assy is out, use a screwdriver to turn the switch(kinda like if you were to steal it). There is just a rectagular notch behind the ign that you could turn with a screwdriver. Put a towel over the column so it doesn't look stolen or could be easily taken.

BTW, I sell alot on ebay, so if you are worried about buying, look me up under minders4 and you can read my feedback. I'll help you out any way possible.
