electrical help

i dont know why but when i put my head lights on or when i keep my foot on the brakes,like for a light, my fuel and temp gauge needles move all the way to the right, why? just got the car running real damn good with the cam and intake combo and now this pops up

Sounds like a ground problem. The original battery ground cable has a lug in the middle that bolts to the firewall and a lug on the end that bolts to the back of the engine. Make sure your battery is grounded to both the engine and the firewall or frame.
