where should I start? When you start to let the clutch out, way before it starts to catch the engine dips then surges. Its is some kind of electrical probelm. I know I got some issues because right now the harness to the tranny is unplugged or the car freaks out. Is it a ground thing maybe?

the clutch safety switch is only for starting. the other connector is for cruise. so i would doubt that is the issue.

give more info on the car and what has been done recently and all. good luck.

I wouldn't think it could be electrical either, but remember me. You helped me realize that my starter was making me think my tranny was busted. That definitely was an electrical problem, one that I have not even addressed yet. I just unplugged the harnesses to the tranny. So I still have some problems I need to deal with. But is it a ground thing, or a harness connected wrong somehwhere? This was a 87 4cyl auto, then it had an 86 5.0 and harness, now it has a 92 5.0 with an 89 harness. It seems to be running way better, more connections got made and there are more grounds hooked up. I think this brought some connections to life that before were dead and never gave me trouble. Because now that I think back, I dont remember if I ever got the reverse lights working. The car has a definite dip/surge when you start to let the clutch out. I have to reach under the dash and trigger the swith by hand to be sure, but I dont think it has anything to do with the clutch itself. It has got to be something I screwed up in the swap, so I hope someone knows. You know the ground strap that usually goes from the back of th h ead to the bell housing bolt, well I have that grounded to the body. Also I have a battery relocation setup, maybe my ground on the quadshock is bad?

i do remember you other thread - good luck with it all.

as for the rest - im not the one to help ya, as i have not done the swap. i can offer that grounds are imperative. if you have doubts, run some temporary (or permanent) grounds - you cant have too many. with the relocated battery, you need some real hog wire (1/0 gauge cables for the battery, upgraded motor to chassis grounds, power grounds, etc). i dont know that any of this would help, but it is something you will likely want to do anyhow.

im afraid the rest will be you having to trace wires and figure it out (any SN'ers or other buds near where you live that can help?). or some of the swap guys might have some ideas (Blk92stang, et al).
good luck and bump for ya.
