Hello, I found a short on my car (90 5.0 hatchback) and because it had to do with the dome light switch( i think) I went for a long time and burnt the cables from the connection to the dome light so I was going to run new wires but is there only two cables or three or is it The same diagram for all fuse 8

I think you have a serious wiring problem to figure out because that part of the circuit should have been protected by a fused circuit. If proper, a fuse would blow long before all that wiring overheated like that. That is a fire hazard!

Yeah I found a 40 amp fuse instead of the 30 amp it’s supposed to have but I think I figured it out

What circuit related to the dome light would be 30amp? That sounds way too high.

Even then, any true 30amp circuit would probably survive on a 40amp fuse. Even a 40 should blow and protect wires from melting.

The burnt wires you show in the picture look like something that would happen on an unfused circuit.

Sorry was confusing it with another its a 15 and it had a 40 but I think all the circuits are fused with correct fuses except that one
