I was merging onto the main highway here in town a couple of days ago (at the speed limit)when this little Mazda 3, ripping down the exit, fart pipe a-wailin' and flew by me.

I was in fourth at the time merging at about 1800-2000 RPM. Lazily I pressed the gas. About 3 seconds later, the Mazda 3 got a good, albeit brief look at my tailights. Met him at a light further down the road and asked him if he wanted to try his luck again.

He declined...and waited until I was well underway from the light before even slightly moving from a stop.

"Zoom, Zoom"?? I think not...

David vs. Goliath. Atleast he made the correct choice. If not it would have been a cat playing with a mouse.

I love my mazda3. Great little car. But I know better than to try and race someone in it. It's my drive to work car. My other 2 toys are for playing. But not with you Cobra guys. I know better.

I find that people like to #1...see how fast your car is...#2 see how well their car runs compared to yours...they know they will lose, but want to see if they can keep up.

I ran into the same thing when I was into sport bikes in the early 90's...didnt matter if they were driving a Yugo.
