Engine Bay/Undercarriage painted cont....

she looks brand new under there. Although I cant decide if I like the hood hinges painted silver. Mine our out right now because im painting my bay and yours got me thinkin about the silver. My theme in the bay and on the engine is all black with chrome accesories and the silver hinges may look good in there.

im impressed... I would have pulled the motor but it looks good.

Thanks!

Yeah we thought about taking it out but due to time and budget constraints :) we left it in and painted around. I really like how the firewall cleaned up. Once all the grime was cleaned and metal sanded, its smooth as silk.

I was wondering how the silver hinges were going to look as well. The picture makes it look more white than silver but it looks good with the satin black bay. My friend also painted the solenoid and washer motor that silver and just installed a new chrome alternater. I think the silver exhaust manifolds match the hinges nicely when looking at the entire engine bay from above. Its coming together with more pics soon. Thanks man

Chris H,

How do you like you tall valve covers? I was planning on running a similar pair, but was questioning the breathers. Do you have baffles on the valve covers or on the breather itself? And have you ever had oil come through the breathers?

The engine compartment detailing really perked things up. Good job even with a giant obstacle (motor) in the way.

looks very nice, what kind of paint is he using?

I believe the paint is made by Seymor. Not sure if I'm spelling the name correctly but I'll get ahold of the cans and get back to you with name and color.

Valve Covers seem fine except that when trying to polish them it looks like some sort of chemical was placed on the covers and desorted what could be a mirror finish (but I live with it :) ) I'm going for the mostly black with chrome/silver touches in the engine bay and the valve covers do the trick. Since buying the car in Dec I've really only driven the car two times for any amount of distance and no oil, that I can see, has leaked out. I'll get back to you on the breather question....

The baffles are on the valve covers and I just bought a breather with chrome cap. So far I have not seen any oil while using this valve covers. Thanks man
