1965 289. Any pics that show a good rebuilt (or original) with all the pieces in their propper place would be extremely helpful.

Which hole does the Temp sending unit go into. What is the other hole for?

Thanks,
Steve-o

"What goes here" is for the temp sender. The other bolt hole ("is this where…") wasn't used at all in 65.

Isn't "Is this where..." where the coil bracket goes?

I've seen the coil bracket mounted to the intake on some cars and mounted on the front of the engine on others. The one's mounted on the front of the engine look like they use one of the waterpump bolts. Which position is correct for a 1965 289?

Thanks,
Steve-o

+1 for the answer from 2+2GT. Except on my late 65 stock 2V 289, The hole on the passenger side you are asking about was where the engine build tag was attached.

Aha...You are right. Now I remember that the engine tag was fastened to that hole.

Hmmm....I actually have the engine tag somewhere. Problem is, I also have the rear end tag, the tranny tag, and a few other tags all mixed together. Does anyone have a good pic of an engine tag I can use to compare to the tags I have? If you could post a pic that would be great!

Thanks,
Steve-o
