engine coolant level wire harness?

on the top of the coolant cap there is a plug for a harness...mine has been unplugged since i bought the car...any reason it shouldn't be plugged in or?

Plug it in and see if the low coolant light comes on. Maybe it does work properly and the light stays on all the time.

When it's not plugged in, it defaults to not showing the "low coolant" light.

So plug it in, and if the low coolant light comes on, then the sensor is prob bad and the PO disconnected it.

So you could either leave it disconnected..or buy a new sensor cap
