Anticipating getting my motor finished up this week and then mating the T-5 to the engine and then installing back into the Coupe. I have BBK full length 1 5/8" headers, can I go ahead and install those on the engine before hoisting everything in? Or do I have to wait till engine and t-5 are installed?

One more thing, are the header gaskets and hardware that BBK supplied sufficient? Any suggestions for improvement and reliability?

I have had the best luck with longtubes by installing them from the bottom after the engine is in. They seem to go in seemlessly once you have the car up high enough

Install the headers after. They get in the way. I just installed my motor this past weekend and ended up taking mine off to install. Also bbk gasket suck for sealing, I have the same headers and I ended up using a pair of copper gaskets. They say they are good for many reinstalls. Sealed my headers right up. I hate the sound of a exhaust tick from a non sealed gasket

Thanks for the info. I'll do the headers after the motor and trans are installed but before everything is tightened up. I'll post some pics here but most will be in my build thread...

Lay the headers in place in the engine bay and drop the motor between them.

Any thoughts on the BBK hardware? Should I spend the $$ on ARP or is that overkill?

If you have aluminum heads with those ARP bolts, be careful. The bolts were about a good 1/4 inch short and I stripped out one of the thread holes on one of my heads.

I have Edelbrock performer heads. The Stage 8 are pricey and I saw one review on Summit that said the head of the Stage 8 bolts didn't clear BBK ceramic LT's on a Fox.
